Skip Bayless might push limits when it comes to his sports commentary, but he wouldn’t dare exploit the word “punk,” and he’s urging others to follow his lead.
Bayless hasn’t been considered the model for political correctness throughout his polarizing career in sports media. Nor has he been overly attentive to avoid insulting professional athletes. But the former ESPN and FS1 host has a problem with hearing “punk” used by sports media personalities and announcers.

Three years old? Don’t doubt Bayless. He says he has an autobiographical memory and remembers entity in his backyard on the Fourth of July in while using a punk to light fireworks. Bayless remembers the phrase being used to portray “bad kids” or “weak-minded, un-tough losers.” He also knows Ashton Kutcher helped turn punk into a verb.

It’s ridiculous. All it’s going to do is have people continue to talk about his book.” So I didn’t. And during a wide-ranging interview that included discussions on Stephen A. Smith, Shannon Sharpe and Charles Barkley, PFT noted Aikman was their previous guest, prompting him to ask Bayless about the current state of their relationship. “Did you imply or say he was gay in the book?” PFT asked. “I did not say…you didn’t read it obviously,” Bayless concluded, prompting Big Cat to confirm, “We don’t read.” “If you had read my book, you would love the way I portrayed Troy in my book,” Bayless insisted. “Because Troy was the hero of that guide.
