In September Instagram pushed me a post by Travel Gay, a website listing the best gay bars, nightclubs, saunas, spas, beaches, shops and more, along with interesting travel ideas and fabulous offers. There I saw the undated post (date your articles and posts, people) LGBTQ+ Solo Travel: the Finest Cities to Visit? by Adam Reid. Being a solo gay traveller, it caught my attention.
Now, while Im still very much a homosexual, it has been a while since I last travelled solo. My last solo trip was Tel Aviv in Since then, Ive travelled with Danny, Oriol, Steve, Philippe, Nicolas, Thanh, my sister Florence. Sorry for the radio silence here, but after having returned home to the USA for the holidays, I’ve had a lot of time to think and to reflect — mostly about the past year and a bit about the future. And in making some of my plans for the next year, I’ve thought a lot about the past year.
Namely the fact that it’s probably been my gayest year ever. Is that even a thing? Who knows. I don’t care. But I feel like this was an crucial year for homosexual rights, and also for my retain interest in lgbtq+ travel.
Gay travel?!
Yeah, that topic again. Journey is travel, yes. But this year I’ve also realized just how many of my possess trips and experiences are almost certainly chosen because of my own sexual preference. Where I’ve traveled to isn’t necessarily anything to do with the fact that I’m gay, I guess, but these are the places that I’ve create that are actually great for other gay travelers love myself—either solo or for gay couples.

They hold developed to a show where the LGBTQ collective is truly integrated into society, gay couples are not labelled ‘gay couples’; they are just another couple in the avenue – as it should be.
There are many well-known gay travel destinations in Europe, from the same-sex attracted hot spots in Spain such as Madrid, Barcelona and Sitges, to Berlin in Germany, the lgbtq+ mecca of Mykonos in Greece and our UK home of Manchester.
But many lesser-known cities and countries in Europe are now following suit to welcome gay travellers into their countries which is a step in the right direction!
